I had a go at trying to shot in the same style as Keisuke Shirota photography. These are the images I have as a raw file with no editing. 

With edits:
In these photographs, I used the same style of making the whole photography black and white and highlighting the main part of the image. - which is the girl.

Artist Research

I had a look at a website called 'art2day' for inspiring photographers under the theme of 'Minimalism'.

I found few artist that fits in with the kind of project I want to do.

The three main aspects that I had to bear in mind was that it had to fit under 3 main themes of Fashion, Community and Minimalism


One of the artist that I looked at was called: Keisuke Shirota 



He is an artist that photographs speed in a different style to other speed photographers.
He creates black and white images but adds his own voice by highlighting an area with colour.


After looking at Keisuke Shirota's photographs I had an idea of using his style in fashion photography. My ideas was to create series of images with a model wearing a suitable clothing for the area that she is in.

Concept - Minimalistic

Minimalistic or minimalism means to have limited amount of stuff. In our case came up with ranges of different aspects that could be used when thinking about community.

Some of the ideas are as followed:
- Minimalistic in fashion: eg. having limited amount of clothing. 
- Minimalistic in lifestyle: eg. having limited things to do as a whole in life.
- Minimalism in art/paintings.

Concept Community

-As a group we knew that our main theme of the Fashion Magazine was the community, so we had to decide carefully on which community we were targeting. When you think about community is a broad theme.


-After having a discussion with my teammates, we had the agreement of having women as our community. We also decided that we wanted to show women in their simplest but most colourful forms under the main subject of fashion.

The very beginning

The start:


As a group, we had to analyse a magazine that has a monthly theme.
We analysed few magazines for different audiences.


The main theme we had as a whole was the community, so we had to pick a sub-theme that fitted in perfectly with our main theme.


We came up with few initial ideas, as followed:
- Minimalistic
- Noise
- Sexuality


After a discussion we had we all agreed to have minimalistic as our sub-theme.
